操作方法

一般情況加 s ： book-- books mouth---mouths house---houses
girl---girls

以 s 、x、 sh 、 ch 結尾的加 es ： class--- classes box----boxes
match----matches brush—brushes
注：“stomach”（胃），“monarch”（君主）等的複數是詞尾加“-s”而不是加“-es”，因為這些詞的詞尾“ch”的發音是[-k]。

子音字母 + y結尾的變 y為 i加es：
city---cities country----countries party----parties factory----factories
dictionary—dictionaries strawberry—strawberries

以 o 結尾的詞 +es的只有以下詞 ：
Negro hero tomato potato 特殊： zero--zeroes/zeros
Heroes and Negroes like eating potatoes and tomatoes.
以 o 結尾並且詞尾有兩個母音字母 +s
radios, zoos, bamboos ,(pianos ,kilos photos)

以f， fe 結尾的 變f或fe為v +es ：
thief wife life knife wolf half leaf shelf
The thief’s wife killed three wolves with some leaves and knives in half of
her life.
